The Subway Joeys opened their AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2023™ Qualifiers in emphatic fashion, defeating Northern Mariana Islands 23-0 at Shepparton Sport City Precinct. In a strong performance from Brad Maloney's front three, Nestory Irankunda scored four in a Player of the Match-winning performance, while Mitchell Glasson grabbed a quadruple and Max Hately registered a hat-trick.

The Subway Joeys remained in top spot of their AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2023™ Qualifiers Group G following their 10-0 win over Cambodia in Shepparton. An early own goal and strikes from Mitchell Glasson and Max Hately saw Australia out to a 3-0 lead at half time, before they surged with seven goals in the second half to secure another strong victory.
