Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli have confirmed the capture of Melbourne Victory and Caltex Socceroos midfielder Mark Milligan.
Victory confirmed the departure of their former skipper on Sunday night, six months after he was lured back for a third stint with Kevin Muscat's men.
After rejecting two previous offers, Milligan opted to sign with the Saudi club after he was adamant that joining Al-Ahli was an opportunity he wanted to take up.
"We obviously did everything we could to keep him," Muscat said in a club statement.
"It's a very disappointing outcome, but these things happen in football so we must move forward and make sure we're ready to tackle Newcastle on Saturday.”
