FIFA's head of communications Markus Siegler told AFP sources: "FIFA is going to bring a disciplinary procedure against Kewell for repeatedly insulting the referee."

"A decision should be taken before Australia's final match. Kewell will have a chance to give his version of events."

The FFA lawyers are looking into all the circumstances surrounding the confrontation, including looking into the video footage of the game and the incident.
