The Caltex Socceroos’ all-or-nothing intercontinental playoff against Honduras is looming, with a place at Russia 2018 on the line when the two nations clash next month.
We check in with some of the Caltex Socceroos' key men to check their club form ahead of our most important international games in four years.
MAT RYAN
The Caltex Socceroos custodian has quickly established himself as first-choice at newly promoted Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.
In his side's latest outing, only a late Wayne Rooney penalty denied Brighton their third win of the season with their home clash against Everton finishing 1-1.
However, Ryan had an outstanding game, rescuing his team with a superb double block in the dying stages.
AARON MOOY
Like Ryan, the talented Caltex Socceroos midfielder has settled quickly into the cauldron of life in the English Premier League.
The Huddersfield Town star has played in all of his side's eight league matches and scored his first Premier League goal in a 1-0 win over Newcastle United.
Mooy has an exciting period ahead; in consecutive weeks Huddersfield will host Manchester United before visiting Anfield to face Liverpool.
ROBBIE KRUSE
The speedy winger continues to light up the 2.Bundesliga with another man-of-the-match display in Bochum’s 2-0 win over third-placed SV Sandhausen.
Kruse not only got through another 90 minutes but also set up both goals to inspire his side to a valuable three points.
Bochum have now given themselves some breathing space from the relegation spots, with Kruse having three more matches to maintain his form ahead of the Honduras playoffs.
MATHEW LECKIE
The livewire attacker has played every one of Australia's 11 matches in 2017, scoring three goals and presenting a consistent threat to opposition defences.
At club level, Leckie has benefited from an off-season move to Hertha Berlin from Ingolstadt.
The former Adelaide United flier has quickly become a fan favourite, scoring four goals in eight Bundesliga games so far in 2017/18.
TRENT SAINSBURY
The classy defender is one of the first names on Ange Postecoglou's team-sheet, starting Australia's last ten matches in the heart of the back-three.
At club level though, Sainsbury has had considerably less game-time for his Chinese Super League outfit Jiangsu Suning.
He wasn't in the squad for three of his side's last four outings, but did play 90 minutes in their 1-0 win over Tianjin Quanjian in late September.
TOM ROGIC
The former Central Coast Mariners protégé is another to feature heavily for his country in 2017, scoring the winner against Saudi Arabia in June and netting Australia's first goal at the Confederations Cup against Germany.
Celtic boss Brendon Rodgers is a huge fan, handing the midfielder significant minutes in both the Scottish Premier League and European Champions League.
Late last month, Rogic scored his side's opening goal in their first clash of the campaign against Rangers, in front of over 50-thousand fans at Ibrox.
MILOS DEGENEK
In Ange Postecoglou's three-man defence, Degenek has become a regular, playing a full part in nine of Australia's 11 games this year.
The 23-year old plies his trade in Japan for Yokohama and has featured in 22 of his side's 29 J-League games this season.
