“We still think we can win it; we still know we're going to win it,” a confident Toure said.

“We just have a couple of things to do tactically, and the coaching staff, they're getting that across very well, we just have to go out there tomorrow and show what we can do.”

Despite not getting the desired three points, Toure said the group has taken plenty of positives from the match against Jordan.

“The preparation was very good, the boys seem ready, of course the first game we drew but there was a lot of positives to take out the game,” he said.

“Still good to start off with a clean sheet, now just moving forward, we just have to try and win all our games.”

Toure was given 20 minutes in the first match off the bench, and going forward in this tournament he wants to contribute with more minutes and some goals.

"I just want to help the team as much as possible, as a striker, your job is to score goals,” he said.

“I want to score as many goals for the team as possible, just to help them as much as I can to win or to qualify.”

The Socceroos-capped striker has spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Paris FC from parent club Reims, and after recovering from injury, has been enjoying his football.

Although Paris is a busy place for a 20-year-old who grew up in Adelaide.

“I started good and then I got an injury, it was a very long rehab, but I started playing again towards the end before coming into camp, so it was good,” he said.

“It's pretty crowded, I'm from Adelaide, so I'm not really used to seeing a lot of people but still good, it's good to be living in Paris, and a good experience.”

He said that international football is a different challenge to club football, but he is enjoying working with the Olyroos coaches.

“They talk to players, they tell us what they want and yeah, it's very good to work with Tony and the staff,” he said.

“A little bit more emotions going to international because you're playing for your country, a lot of pride, especially in tournaments like this where you know you can qualify for the Olympic Games.”

The idea of representing his country at Paris left Toure saying: “I don't think I have words to describe that.

“Just the thought of us qualifying would be amazing. In two weeks’ time when we're crowned champions of Asia, that itself will be an amazing feeling, and then the Olympics, I don’t know how to describe.”
