The 36-year-old made his senior debut for Australia in 2008 as Socceroo cap number #514 in an international friendly against Singapore - his solitary appearance.

Impressively, Broxham has spent his entire 18-year professional career with his hometown club in Victory and experienced immense success.

Broxham, the A-League’s games record holder with over 450 appearances, will call an end to his illustrious career at season's end which has yielded four Championships, three Premierships and two Australia Cups.

The versatile footballer also represented his country at junior level on more than 20 occassions with the Subway Joeys and Subway Olyroos.

Speaking on his decision to retire, Broxham said in a statement: "It’s been an incredible journey for me in professional football and now it’s time to close the book on this chapter of my life and open a new chapter for my family and I.

“I’ve had moments and experiences in the game that will stay with me forever and I have  made lifelong friends that only football can create and I will be forever grateful for that.

“Being at Melbourne Victory for 18 seasons is something that I am incredibly proud of. This Club has been a part of more than half of my life and I’d like to thank everyone, from the players, coaches and staff who have been a part of my journey over my career.

“But most importantly, I want to thank my family. My wife Sam and kids Sonny, Billie and Mila for being there every day for me. During the good days and the bad, the highs and the lows, my family has always supported me and I can not wait to be there for them in our next chapter as a family."
