Socceroo keeper stars for Valencia in Copa Del Rey

Socceroo keeper Mat Ryan has caught the eye again keeping a clean sheet in Valencia's second leg 3-0 win over Granada in the Copa Del Rey overnight.

Ryan produced some top-drawer stops to help his club progress to the last eight 7-0 on aggregate in the Round of 16.

The Aussie former Hyundai A-League star also kept a clean sheet in the first leg 4-0 win at the Mestalla, which featured a hat-trick from former EPL striker Alvaro Negredo.

Goals from Wilfried Zahibo, substitute Paco Alcacer and late penalty from Pablo Piatti were enough to see off Granada in the second leg of this Round of 16 tie.

Ryan is behind Valencia’s Jaume in La Liga but first choice for coach Gary Neville in the Copa Del Rey.

The draw for the Copay Del Rey quarter finals will be held this weekend with Ryan still a chance to face Messi's Barcelona after they breezed past Espanyol in the Round of 16.
