1. Brett Holman, v Serbia in 2010

With the vuvuzelas humming incessantly in his ears, Brett Holman burst through the midfield to score one of the Caltex Socceroos’ finest ever World Cup goals against Serbia at World Cup 2010.

Holman scored the all-important second goal in the 2-1 win, striking from long range to catch Serbia napping, tucking his effort into the bottom left corner.

2. Aaron Mooy, v Guam in 2012

Aaron Mooy’s free-kick strike against Guam was his first goal for the Caltex Socceroos, and what a strike it was.

His curling effort rifled toward the top right corner, crashing off the crossbar and into the net, giving the goalkeeper absolutely no chance of stopping the emphatic strike.

3. Tim Cahill, v Netherlands in 2014

After falling behind to the Netherlands at the 2014 FIFA World Cup™,  the Caltex Socceroos responded in style with Tim Cahill scoring one of his greatest ever goals only moments after Australia conceded the opener to Arjen Robben.

With a long, diagonal ball sailing toward the back post, Cahill sized up the shot and hammered a cruel volley off his non-preferred left boot which hit the crossbar and dropped into the net, sending Aussie fans and commentators alike into a daze.

4. Tim Cahill, v China in 2015

The AFC Asian Cup 2015™ was a memorable one for the Caltex Socceroos, and this Tim Cahill overhead strike against China was one of the best moments of the campaign.

The ball hung in the air for an eternity but that didn’t bother Cahill, who reacted to the drop of the ball, swinging his leg skyward and connecting with a stunning bicycle kick which caught the goalkeeper by surprise and nestled into the bottom left corner.

5. Massimo Luongo, v Korea Republic in 2015

Massimo Luongo sent the Caltex Socceroos on the way to glory with this stunning strike against Korea Republic in the final of the AFC Asian Cup 2015™ in Sydney.

His sharp turn outside the box and opportunistic long range strike were too hot to handle for the Korea Republic defence, as the ball darted low without touching the ground into the bottom right corner.

6. Mile Jedinak, v Germany in 2015

Mile Jedinak and the Caltex Socceroos showed no fear of world champions Germany when they faced off in Kaiserslautern in 2015 as they drew 2-2 with the best national side in the world.

Jedinak’s free-kick from distance was the moment of the match, as he dispatched a venomous right-footed shot over the wall and into the top corner of the net, giving the Caltex Socceroos a 2-1 advantage at the time.

7. Tom Rogic, v Tajikistan in 2016

Tom Rogic was at it again for the Caltex Socceroos against Tajikstan in 2016 when he combined skill and creativity to score with the outside of his left boot from outside the box.

His curling effort came from nothing as the ‘Wizard of Oz’ poked a cute curling attempt at goal which deceived the goalkeeper as it bent into the right-hand side of goal.

8. Tom Rogic, v Saudi Arabia in 2017

The Caltex Socceroos enjoyed a dramatic 3-2 win over Saudi Arabia in Adelaide in 2017, and Tom Rogic came up with the decisive goal in some style.

A pass from Aaron Mooy found Rogic in space on the left side of the box, where he took two touches, sized up the goal, and fired an absolute rocket which was still rising when it hit the roof of the net.

9. Aaron Mooy, v Kuwait in 2019

Aaron Mooy ended a three-year wait for a Caltex Socceroos goal in style when he struck a beautiful curling effort into the top-right corner of goal against Kuwait in September this year.

The goal was Australia’s third and final strike in a 3-0 win; the Caltex Socceroos' first victory of the current FIFA World Cup™ qualifying campaign.
