Ultimate Guide: Mexico vs Australia

The Subway Socceroos will play its fourth friendly match of 2023 when it faces Mexico at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas on Sunday 12:00PM (AEST).

The match against the 12th ranked side and CONCACAF Gold Cup winners will provide Australia another stern test ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026™ qualifiers in November and the upcoming AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023TM tournament in January next year.

Our squad

Graham Arnold named his 23-man squad last Friday which includes three maiden call-ups and overall five potential debutants as uncapped dup Alessandro Circati and Tom Glover return having been named in the side to face Argentina back in June.

Sam Silvera, Cameron Burgess and Ashley Maynard-Brewer are the trio to have received their first senior call-ups. 

Nick D'Agostino earned his first call-up since June 2022, while a number of experienced regulars are also back including Jackson Irvine, Aziz Behich, Mathew Leckie, Milos Degenek and Martin Boyle from injury.

The match against Mexico will be broadcast live and free on Australia's 'Home of Football,' Network 10 with coverage beginning from 11:30am AEST.

Our history vs Mexico

The Subway Socceroos will face Mexico for a sixth time on Sunday and first since the 2001 FIFA Confederations Cup. In five previous meetings Australia has won two and drawn twice, leaving one defeat which occurred in the inaugural encounter back in December 1970.
