Tim Cahill virtually presents debutants Genreau, Metcalfe and Tongyik with Socceroos caps

Socceroos legend Tim Cahill made a special virtual appearance in camp to present caps #610, #611 and #612 to recent debutants Denis Genreau, Connor Metcalfe and Ruon Tongyik.

The Socceroos legend is no stranger to the trio, having played alongside all of them during his time with Melbourne City.

All three, who made their debuts with the A-League outfit, were grateful to hear some powerful words of support from Australia's all-time leading goalscorer.

Addressing the entire squad, Cahill provided a piece of advice for the journey ahead. 

The mentality is simple. Just don't take a backward step and don't doubt yourself." 

"Four World Cup we have been a part of, and it hasn't happened by luck. The older boys know the rules, if it's not going to help you play better, don't do it. 

"At the same time, more than anything, take care of each other.

"Mentality is everything, go and enjoy and have a shot at the title - that's what it's there for."
