Tilio treble helps Young Socceroos beat Macau

The Young Socceroos propelled to a 6-0 victory in their second 2020 AFC U-19 Championship qualifier match against Macau.

Alberto De Grosso was able to open accounts with a sweet header for Australia while John Roberts doubled the green and gold's advantage shortly before the half time whistle.

And just three minutes later Marco Tilio ensured Australia went into the interval with a comfortable lead.

Once the second half resumed, only four minutes later, it was Gianluca Iannucci extending the lead for Australia, making it 4-0.

Tilio netted his second for the evening in the 55th minute, and soon after he completed his hat-trick in the 67th.

The 6-0 victory sees Australia sitting in first place in Group H, with goal difference being the only determining factor between Gary van Egmond's side and second placed Laos.

Next up for the Young Socceroos is a Sunday match-up against Chinese Taipei. That one commences at 10.00pm AEDT.

The group winners will advance to the AFC U-19 Championship in Uzbekistan. The four best runners up from the 11 groups will join the hosts at the finals in October 2020.
