Taggart makes K-League All Stars to face Ronaldo’s Juventus

Adam Taggart’s red-hot K-League form has earned him a shot at Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus.

The Caltex Socceroos striker has been voted in the K-League All Stars squad for the clash against the Italian champions on July 26.

And it’s hard to argue with his selection given his impact for Suwon Bluewings since joining the club from Hyundai A-League outfit Brisbane Roar in February.

Taggart leads the goalscorers charts in Korea with 11 for the campaign, including seven in his last seven outings.

The most recent of those came in the weekend’s 2-0 win over Sangju Sangmu, which boosted the Bluewings’ finals hopes.

Voting for the All Star squad closed on the weekend, with the 26-year-old Aussie doing enough to earn his spot alongside the likes of Korean star Lee Dong-gook, Brazilian Cesinha and USA international Mix Diskerud.

As well as going toe-to-toe with Portuguese superstar Ronaldo, Taggart will match-up against the likes of Italian international Giorgio Chiellini and potentially Dutch starlet Matthijs De Ligt, who is set to join Juve imminently.

The K-League All Stars clash against Juventus will be played at the Seoul Olympic Stadium on Friday, July 26, kicking off at 9pm (AEST).
