Sydney FC vs Melbourne City

Andrew Redmayne’s Sydney FC pulled off an impressive 2-1 come-from-behind upset victory against their fiercest rivals last weekend.

Unbeaten in their previous six matches, they face an even greater challenge.

Melbourne City come into the clash well-rested after enjoying the week off but will equally be hoping the break will not hinder their recent form.

Jamie Maclaren, Mathew Leckie, Marco Tilio, Aiden O’Neill, and Jordan Bos are all expected to feature against the Sky Blues and have experienced strong campaigns.

Sydney will need to be at their best to contain a potent City attack with Maclaren ending the regular season as the competition’s top scorer with 24 goals. Moreover, Leckie, who missed around two months through injury, scored six while Tilio netted a career high nine.

Adelaide United vs Central Coast Mariners

Adelaide United secured its first win in five matches against Wellington Phoenix thanks in large to Craig Goodwin and Joe Gauci.

Goodwin was at his influential best, scoring a brace in the 2-0 Elimination Final triumph, bringing his haul to 14 in 2022/23, while Gauci impressed between the sticks to keep just his fourth clean sheet.

The Reds will be out for revenge against Central Coast, a side they have yet to beat this season, humbled 4-0 and most recently 4-1 two weeks ago.

Jason Cummings was unable to find the back-of-the-net in both of those matches but remains a threat in attack with 16 league goals to his name this campaign.
