The Socceroos made it two wins from two at AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019™ and booked their place in the Round of 16 with a 3-2 victory over Syria in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Awer Mabil and Chris Ikonomidis struck either side of half-time before Tom Rogic decided the match by firing home a 93rd-minute winner.
There were highlights aplenty in an end-to-end contest which confirmed Australia's place as the runner-up in Group B.
Graham Arnold's side must now await the outcome of the Group F clash between Uzbekistan and Japan to discover which nation they will meet in the Round of 16.
