Socceroos on the scoresheet: McGree and Boyle net overnight

Riley McGree netted his first goal for Middlesbrough as the North Yorkshire side drew 1-1 away in South Wales, while Martin Boyle scored a vital late equaliser in the AFC Champions League.

After making the move from Charlotte FC to Middlesbrough in January, the Riley McGree has had to overcome injury disruptions to find his feet with his new club.

The 23-year-old came close to opening his account for Boro in the previous match against Huddersfield, where his strike rattled the crossbar in the second-half, but this time around, his shot thundered off the upright and found its way into the back of Andy Fisher's net.

The draw keeps McGree's side in the hunt for a crack at promotion to the Premier League, but a near-perfect record for the remainder of the season is required.

Elsewhere, Martin Boyle scored his second Asian Champions League goal in five games as the Australian netted the latest of late goals against Al-Wehdat.

After a tight and hard-fought 90 minutes against Al-Wehdat, the Jordanian side thought they had the victory through Ahmad Sariweh, who netted two minutes prior to Boyle's equaliser.

But the Aussie had a chance at the death to equalise after a header fell to his feet in the box, and Boyle made no mistake in taking his chance to ensure Al Faisaly remain top of Group F with one match remaining.

Meanwhile in Japan, Mitch Duke grabbed his first assist of the season as the 31-year-old continues a strong run of form for Fagiano Okayama.

McGree, Boyle and Duke are all next in action midweek.

Middlesbrough face Cardiff on Thursday morning (4:45 am AEST), while Al Faisaly close out their group stages on the same day at 6:15am (AEST), and Fagiano Okayama face Blaublitz Akita on Wednesday at 7:30pm (AEST).
