Socceroos Abroad: Silvera v Burgess, Yengi v Jones in England

A number of our Socceroos face off against each other in the Championship and League One this weekend as Middlesbrough meet promotion chasing Ipswich Town, and Portsmouth FC take on Bolton Wanderers.

Subway Socceroos

Starting in the Europa Conference League, where Joe Gauci (cap #631) was on the bench for Aston Villa as they beat LOSC Lille in the first leg of their quarter-final. 

He could feature on the bench again in the Premier League when they travel to the Emirates to face Arsenal on Monday at 1:30am (AEST). 

In the EFL Championship, Samuel Silvera (cap #634) came off the bench in the 74th minute for Middlesbrough in a 2-2 draw with Hull City on Thursday. Tom Glover was the reserve goalkeeper again.

They are likely to be involved again on Sunday at 12am (AEST) when they come up against fellow Socceroos Cameron Burgess (cap #633) and Massimo Luongo's (cap #571) Ipswich Town. 

Burgess, who made his 100th appearance for Ipswich last weekend, played a full game while Luongo came off the bench in the 63rd minute on Thursday against Watford as they missed the chance to climb back to the top of the Championship.

The draw extended their unbeaten home record to 19 games and moved them up to second, a point ahead of Leeds.

Also, Harry Souttar's (cap #606) Leicester City lost 1-0 to Millwall on Wednesday, to blow the title race wide open once again. Souttar did not feature in the match day squad.

The Foxes feature again on Saturday at 5am (AEST) when they travel to Plymouth Argyle. 

In EFL League One, Gethin Jones (cap #639) should start for Bolton on Sunday at 12am (AEST) when they look to narrow the gap between third and first as they take on Kusini Yengi's (cap #638) Portsmouth. 

Bolton are currently nine points off the league leaders.

In Norway, Nick D'Agostino (cap #621) played the first half and scored the second goal for Viking in the Norwegian Cup on Thursday as they progressed with a 5-0 win over Varhaug. Subway Olyroo Franco Lino also made his debut for the club and played the full 90 minutes. 

Patrick Yazbek (cap #641) and Gianni Stensness (cap #617) could return to league action with D'Agostino on Sunday at 10:30pm (AEST) when they host Brann.

In India, Dimitri Petratos (cap #593) played the full game and assisted a goal while Jason Cummings (cap #626) came off the bench in the 79th minute as Mohun Bagan SG beat Bengaluru 4-0 on Thursday.

They face Mumbai City in a top-of-the-table clash on Tuesday at 12am (AEST) in the final round of the season, where a win will seal the premiership.

Over to Scotland, where Keanu Baccus (cap #628) and Ryan Strain (cap #624) will hope to earn a start for St Mirren when they travel to league leaders Celtic on Sunday at 12am (AEST). 

Elsewhere, Hearts’ trio Cameron Devlin (cap #625), Nathaniel Atkinson (cap #620) and Kye Rowles (cap #622) could feature alongside Subway Olyroo Calem Nieuwenhof when they host Livingston at the same time. 

Lewis Miller (cap #635), Martin Boyle (cap #599) and Olyroo Nectarios Triantis could also be involved for Hibernian as they travel to Motherwell on Sunday at 12am (AEST). 

Ryan McGowan (cap #546)'s St Johnstone also host Kilmarnock at the same time. 

In Scotland’s League One, Dylan McGowan (cap #590) should get another start for Hamilton Academical on Sunday at 2:30am (AEST) as the side host league leaders Falkirk, looking to somewhat narrow the massive 19-point gap. 

In the Eredivisie, Mathew Ryan (cap #555) will be in goal for AZ Alkmaar as they look to overturn back-to-back defeats when they host RKC Waalwijk on Sunday at 2:45am (AEST).

Elsewhere in the Dutch top flight, Ajdin Hrustic (cap #589)'s Heracles Almelo face SC Heereveen, eager to win a third match in a row to move further away from the relegation zone on Sunday at 8:15pm (AEST). 

In Germany's 2. Bundesliga, Jackson Irvine (cap #568) and Connor Metcalfe (cap #611) could both start for St. Pauli as they host mid-table side SV Elversberg on Sunday at 9:30pm (AEST), looking to bounce back from last week's defeat to retain their lead at the top of the table. 

John Iredale (cap #640) could also be in action in the German second division for Wehen Wiesbaden, hosting Dusseldorf on Saturday at 9pm (AEST).

In Belgium’s First Division A relegation round, Jason Davidson (cap #545) should feature for KAS Eupen when they travel to RWDM on Sunday at 12am (AEST).

Alessandro Circati (cap #637) is likely to start on Sunday at 12:15am (AEST) in Serie B for Parma as they host Spezia, looking for their first win in three matches to keep their lead at the top of the table. 

In France's Ligue 1, Denis Genreau (#610) could feature again for Toulouse FC when they travel to Rennes on Sunday at 5am (AEST). 

Fran Karacic (cap #607) is likely to start again for Rudes in their match against Slaven Belupo on Saturday at 1am (AEST) in Croatia 1. Division.

Alex Gersbach (cap #587) could get more minutes in Sweden's Allsvenskan for Kalmar FF on Tuesday at 3:10am (AEST), as they look to bounce back from two defeats to open the season when they face IF Elfsborg.  

James Holland (cap #508) might play for Austria Wien in the Austrian Bundesliga relegation play-offs, where they travel to Wolfsberg on Sunday at 1am (AEST).

In Japan, Mitchell Duke's (cap #559) league-leading Machida Zelvia face fourth-placed Vissel Kobe on Saturday at 4pm (AEST) in the J. League.

Also in the competition, Thomas Deng (cap #598) is also likely to start again for Albirex Niigata on Saturday at 3pm (AEST) when they host Consadole Sapporo. 

Elsewhere, Mitchell Langerak (cap #566) could be in goal for Nagoya Grampus at the same time when they travel to Júbilo Iwata.

In K League 1, Harrison Delbridge’s (cap #623) Incheon United return to action on Sunday at 5:30pm (AEDT) when they host Daegu.

 Brad Smith (cap #575) will look to make an impact for Houston Dynamo on Sunday at 10:30am (AEST) against Minnesota in Major League Soccer.

Subway Olyroos

A number of Olyroos not involved in the AFC U23 Asian Cup due to the tournament falling outside of FIFA international dates are in line to feature again this weekend.

Starting in League One, where Nicholas Bilokapic was on the bench again for Peterborough United on Thursday in a 3-0 win over Port Vale.

He could feature on the bench again when they travel to Oxford United on Sunday at 12am (AEST). 

As mentioned above, Franco Lino made his debut for Viking in the Norwegian Cup on Thursday as they progressed with a 5-0 win over Varhaug. 

In the English Premier League, Cameron Peupion could appear for Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday at 12am (AEST) when they travel to Burnley. 

In the Danish Superligaen, Tyrese Francois could feature for Vejle Boldklub on Sunday at 10pm (AEST) when they host Randers in the Danish Superliga relegation play-offs.

As mentioned in Scotland, Nectarios Triantis should play for Hibernian as they travel to Motherwell on Sunday at 12am (AEST). 

Calem Nieuwenhof could also be involved if he makes his return from injury when Hearts visit Livingston on Sunday at 12am (AEST). 

Jahce Novello could be on the bench for Cosenza in Serie B when for their clash with Palermo on Sunday at 12:15am (AEDT).

Subway Young Socceroos

In Italy, Sebastian Esposito could feature again for U.S. Lecce under-19 when they face Lazio under-19 on Saturday at 6:45pm (AEDT).
