Rogic reflects on five-star landmark night

Sometimes everything just falls into place and that was certainly the case for Tom Rogic’s 150th appearance for Celtic.

The Caltex Socceroos star scored a sublime opener to send the Hoops on course to a rampant 5-0 victory over Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday night.

It was another addition to the Rogic highlight reel, with his goalscoring instincts taking over as the opportunity opened up on the edge of the box.

“I’m not sure I’ve scored too many in that fashion, kind of reverse like that, but I’m obviously happy nonetheless.

“I think at first I was looking to pass it but the space just kind of opened up and fortunately it went in, so I’m happy with that.

”As a group we had a great attacking performance. I think there was five different scorers so we had that, a clean sheet and an all round positive night."

It was, however, a mixed occasion for compatriot Daniel Arzani, who made his debut as a 57th-minute substitute but was stretchered off just 20 minutes later.

The 19-year-old suffered a worrying knee injury after providing glimpses of his undoubted potential at Tannadice Park.

Rogic added: “Obviously it didn’t look great, him going down and getting stretchered off.

“It’s a shame. Hopefully it’s nothing serious and I guess we’ll wait and see what the scan results are.

“I think he was positive when he came and he’s been working really hard in training, so it was nice to see him make his debut and as I say we’ll just wait and see how he is.”
