A far more even second half was played out by the two Dutch Eredivisie sides as Melbourne City loanee Genreau, who was an unused substitute in the Caltex Socceroos’ recent 4-0 victory over Kuwait, was substituted after 68 minutes.

The 19-year-old is yet to be capped at senior international level but has established himself as a first-team regular at the MAC³PARK Stadion, making five Eredivisie starts and two substitute appearances.

Meanwhile, Caltex Socceroos duo Trent Sainsbury and Aziz Behich's PSV Eindhoven suffered a 3-2 extra-time loss to second-tier RKC Waalwijk.

The Eredivisie league leaders looked to be progressing through the third round until Darren Maatsen scored a 91st-minute leveller and then completed the upset with a winner in the 109th minute.
