Socceroos duo Martin Boyle and Jackson Irvine both played 90 minutes for Hibernian FC overnight as a 1-0 victory over Aberdeen secured the club a third-placed finish in the Scottish Premiership.
The result was Hibs' first win away at Aberdeen in nearly a decade, and ensured they could not be caught heading into the final matchday of the season.
Jackson Irvine continued his consistent run in the side since joining in January 2021, and so nearly found himself on the scoresheet when he struck the crossbar early in the second half.
The Melbourne-born midfielder has now featured 18 times for the club over the last five months, enjoying a prosperous return to football after a year-long haitus.

While Martin Boyle didn't add to his impressive all-competitions record of 15 goals and 11 assists in 45 games this season, his form in the final third has been integral in inspiring Jack Ross' side to the club's best league finish since 2004-05.
Their latest three points also saw Hibs secure 11 away victories in a top-flight season for the first time, all but confriming the exciting prospect of playing European football next season.

Just before attention turns to the resumption of Australia's FIFA World Cup qualfiying journey, which kicks off on June 4 in Kuwait, the two have one more landmark occassion to prepare for.
Victory over Dundee United in the Scottish Cup last week set up a final against St. Johnstone at Hampden Park which will take place on Saturday 22nd May.
Boyle and Irvine both played their part in the 2-0 triumph, assisting a goal each, and will be determined to inspire the club to its first trophy since 2016 - when they ended a 114 year wait for the Cup.
