Mark Schwarzer and John Aloisi inducted into Stadium Australia Hall of Fame
CommBank Socceroos legends Mark Schwarzer and John Aloisi have joined an illustrious group of inaugural inductees into the Stadium Australia Hall of Fame on Monday night.
The pair played an instrumental role in ending the Socceroos' 32-year drought to qualify for FIFA World Cup 2006™ on that famous night in November 2005 against Uruguay, as the Hall of Fame event commemorated the 25th anniversary of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.

Schwarzer and Aloisi are amongst a highly decorated class which included several greats in their respective codes.
The first batch of inductees features Cathy Freeman (athletics), Louise Sauvage (athletics), Tim Sullivan (athletics), Ian Thorpe (swimming), John Eales (rugby), Jonny Wilkinson (rugby), Andrew Johns (rugby league), and Brad Fittler (rugby league).
Schwarzer made two key saves during the penalty shootout against the South Americans before Aloisi confidently dispatched the wining penalty, eliciting scenes of jubilation across the stadium and around the country.
