Former Qantas Socceroo defender Patrick Kisnorbo is looking to resurrect his international career, after signing a two-year deal with League One side Leeds United.

Kisnorbo, chose the former English Premier League high-flyers, over several Championship sides including Nick Carle-s Crystal Palace and Derby County, who were apparently interested in the defender.

The former South Melbourne player was captain at previous club Leicester City, but a serious knee injury curtailed his time there and he was released at season-s end.

Kisnorbo told the club-s website, "Leeds has a great tradition and history and I want to be part of a successful club.

"Other clubs were interested but I saw more in this club than in the others. None of them appealed to me as much."

Kisnorbo will link up with fellow Australian midfielder Neil Kilkenny, who like Kisnorbo will be trying to push their claims for a spot in the 23-man squad for the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.

Meanwhile Australian captain Lucas Neill is rumoured to be nearing a move to Turkish side Galatasaray, where he would join Aussie team mate Harry Kewell. Neill, who is available on a free transfer after he was unable to agree on a new deal with West Ham United, is apparently set for talks with club representatives over the next few days.

Mark Viduka could remain in the English Premier League, with Hull City and Portsmouth said to be keen to sign the Australian international. The 2006 Australian World Cup captain has battled injuries for the past couple of years, but almost helped Newcastle United avoid the drop, after he returned to the side with six games remaining last season.
