The journey so far: Mooy's perfect strike sinks Kuwait

Over the coming week, we will be re-living the key moments of our WCQ Journey so far as the countdown to the Socceroos' June 4 return ramps up!

First up, victory in Kuwait was wrapped up by a superb strike from Aaron Mooy.

The Shanghai Port midfielder's goal ensured that the Socceroos went into the break with a three-goal buffer, with the Mooy burying his first international goal in three-and-a-half years.

The 30-year-old curled a first-time shot into the top corner of the goal after Adam Taggart brought down a punched clearance from Kuwait’s goalkeeper and laid the ball off for Mooy to launch his attempt from the edge of the box.

"Tags (Adam Taggart) just laid it off and I tried to place it in the corner," Mooy said post-game, "Lucky enough, it went in!"

"I'm trying to help out the squad any way I can. We've got a good mix of youth and experience, but the team overall played great and we're looking forward to our next games."

"We tried to score more goals but we didn't manage to, but in these conditions it was a good result away from home."
