Jordan Bos seals record-breaking Belgian transfer

Jordan Bos is heading to Belgium following the completion of his current A-League Men's campaign in a record-breaking transfer.

KVC Westerlo has announced that the Subway Socceroos fullback is set to join the club on a four-year deal, pending a medical.

Bos jets off to Europe having risen through the ranks with Melbourne City and representing Australia's U17s, U20s, U23s, and following March's debut against Ecuador, the senior national team.

Despite being just 20 years old, Bos has three A-League Men’s Premierships and a Championship to his name, having scored three goals and registered six assists in 50 appearances for the club.

City announced that they have received a record-breaking transfer fee for Bos, eclipsing the value of Aaron Mooy's move to Manchester City in 2016.

“I am very happy with this transfer to KVC Westerlo,” Bos told KVC Westerlo after his move was announced.

"It's a great opportunity for me to play in Europe and I can't wait to get started with my new teammates."

KVC Westerlo finished seventh in the Belgian Pro League's regular season and are currently are playing off for a place in the UEFA Conference League.

Bos joins a long list of Australian internationals to have played in Belgium, including the likes of Maty Ryan, Trent Sainsbury, Jason Culina, Josip Skoko, John Aloisi, Tony Vidmar, Paul Okon, Frank Farina and Subway Socceroos Head Coach Graham Arnold.
