Two-time Caltex Socceroo Alex Gersbach has helped Rosenborg lift Norwegian football's first silverware of the season.
The former Sydney FC defender has played a full 90 minutes in the traditional season-opener between the winners of the Norwegian Eliteserien and the NM Cup from the previous season.
Rosenborg won both last year, so they contested the Super Cup final against league runners-up Brann, winning 2-0.
Serbian midfielder Milan Jevtovic opened the scoring in the 26th minute with substitute Tore Reginiussen adding the second in injury time.
Gersbach and Rosenborg open the defence of their league title at home to Odd on Monday morning.
