Aussies Abroad Wrap: Hearts and St Mirren draw, Celtic extend lead & FA Cup 3rd Round wraps up

United Kingdom

Starting in Scotland, where Cameron Devlin started and played 81 minutes while Kye Rowles played another 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw against St. Mirren on Sunday. 

Ryan Strain opened the scoring for St Mirren with a deflected free-kick inside five minutes before Robert Snodgrass scored the equaliser in the 49th minute. 


Keanu Baccus also started and played 45 minutes for St. Mirren while Nathaniel Atkinson was an unused substitute. 

Elsewhere in Scotland, Aaron Mooy started and played 63 minutes as Celtic took another major step towards a successful Scottish title defence with a 2-0 win over Kilmarnock on Sunday.

Aziz Behich and Mark Birighitti both played 90 minutes as Dundee United lost 2-0 to Rangers on Monday.

In England, Harry Souttar was an unused substitute in Stoke City's FA Cup 3rd Round 3-0 win over Hartlepool on Monday.

Riley McGree also started and played 83 minutes in 3rd Round of the FA Cup as Middlesbrough lost 5-1 to Premier League outfit Brighton on Sunday. 

Bailey Wright also started and played 90 minutes as Sunderland came from behind to beat Shrewsbury 2-1 in another FA Cup 3rd Round tie on Sunday. 

In Olyroos Abroad news, goalkeeper Nick Bilokapic started as Huddersfield lost 3-1 to Preston in FA Cup 3rd Round on Saturday.

In League Two, Lachlan Brook started and played 88 minutes as Crewe Alexandra drew 0-0 with AFC Wimbledon on Sunday.

Brook recently extended his loan spell with Crewe until the end of the season. The 21-year-old Brentford B winger man arrived on a six-month loan deal in July, and has made 21 appearances for the club.

  • In France, Alex Gersbach was an unused substitute as Grenoble Foot 38 beat Nimes 1-0 in the French Cup Round of 64 on Saturday. 
  • In Belgium, Jason Davidson played 90 minutes while James Jeggo came off in the 84th minute as KAS Eupen lost 2-1 against Sporting Charleroi on Sunday.
  • In the Eerste Divisie, Dylan Ryan came on for the second half as FC Den Bosch lost 4-1 against Jong FC Utretcht on Friday.

United Kingdom

  • In England's FA Cup 3rd Round, Massimo Luongo was an unused substitute as Ipswich Town FC beat Rotherham 4-1 on Sunday.
  • Elsewhere in England, Tom Rogic started and played 55 minutes as West Brom drew 3-3 and forced a replay with Chesterfield on Sunday in the FA Cup 3rd Round.
  • Callum Elder also played 90 minutes as Hull City lost 2-0 against Fulham on Sunday in the FA Cup 3rd Round.
  • Kenny Dougall came off the bench in the 68th minute and registered an assist in Blackpool's 4-1 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday in the FA Cup 3rd Round.
  • Dean Bouzanis also started and helped Reading keep a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Watford in the FA Cup 3rd Round on Saturday.
  • In League One, Caleb Watts started and played 81 minutes as Morecambe beat Cheltenham 2-1 on Sunday. 
  • In Premier League 2, Alex Robertson played 90 minutes, scored two goals and got an assist for Manchester City U21 in a 6-0 win over Arsenal U21 on Saturday.
