Aussies Abroad: Socceroos return to club action, Goodwin scores on second Saudi debut

As our Aussies return to club action after the international break, they will be looking to continue their positive form while Craig Goodwin scored on his Saudi Pro League return for Al Wehda on Friday.

Subway Socceroos

Starting in Saudi Arabia, where Craig Goodwin (cap #562) came off the bench at half time to score on his second debut for Al Wehda as they beat Damac 4-2 on Friday.

Goodwin joined the Saudi Pro League during the week for the second time in his career for an undisclosed fee.

In the English Championship, where Riley McGree (cap #609) is likely to be in action when Middlesbrough look to climb off the bottom of the table with their first win of the season against mid-table Blackburn Rovers on Sunday at 12am (AEST).

Fresh from becoming cap number 634, Sammy Silvera will also return to club action with Boro, while Tom Glover is expected to be on the bench.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Cameron Burgess will also return to club action after making his national team debut, becoming Socceroo cap number 633. His Ipswich Town face second-bottom Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday at 12am (AEST). Ipswich have enjoyed a fantastic start to the season, sitting in second - one point off the top.

Massimo Luongo (cap #571) is also likely to feature for Ipswich. 

Harry Souttar's (cap #606) Leicester City also face Southampton on Saturday at 5am (AEST) in the Championship.

In League One, Ashley Maynard-Brewer is likely to feature for Charlton on Sunday at 12am (AEST) when they face Stevenage.

Alex Robertson (cap #630) could feature for Portsmouth FC when they face Callum Elder's (cap #614) Derby County on Sunday at 12am (AEST) in League One.

Kenny Dougall (cap #608) could also feature in League One for Blackpool when the Seasiders face Wycombe on Sunday at 12am (AEST).

Over to Scotland, where Martin Boyle (cap #599) will return from international duty to link back up with James Jeggo (cap #601) at Hibernian as they face Kilmarnock on Sunday at 12am (AEST) with their new manager Nick Montgomery. Olyroo Lewis Miller could also feature.

Elsewhere in the Scottish Premiership, Kye Rowles (cap #622), Cameron Devlin (cap #625) and Nathaniel Atkinson (cap #620) could feature for Heart of Midlothian FC when they host Aberdeen on Sunday at 12am (AEST). 

Keanu Baccus (cap #628) and Ryan Strain's (cap #624) St Mirren will look to continue their unbeaten start to the season when they face Motherwell on Sunday at 12am (AEST). 

Ryan McGowan's (cap #546) St Johnstone also host Rangers on Saturday at 9:30pm (AEST). 

Over to the Netherlands, where Maty Ryan (cap #555) will return to Eredivisie action with AZ Alkmaar when they host Sparta Rotterdam on Monday at 12:45am (AEST). AZ have won the opening three games and are first in the league. 

Elsewhere in the Dutch top-flight, Garang Kuol (cap #627) could be in action for Volendam FC when they face Fortuna Sittard on Sunday at 4am (AEST).

In Germany, Jackson Irvine (cap #568) will not be available for St. Pauli's 2. Bundesliga match against Holstein Kiel on Sunday at 9:30pm (AEST) after the midfielder was stretchered off on international duty with the Socceroos after injuring his ankle. St Pauli later confirmed that he had sustained a twisted ankle and an ATFL sprain in his right foot.

Fellow Socceroo and club teammate Connor Metcalfe (cap #611) is likely to feature in the match. 

In Italy's Serie B, Alessandro Circati is expected to return to action with Parma when they face US Catanzaro on Monday at 12:15am (AEST).

In Switzerland, Awer Mabil (cap #597) could feature in the Swiss Cup for Grasshopper Club Zürich against fellow Aussie Liam Chipperfield's FC Sion on Saturday at 4:30am (AEST). 

In the Belgian First Division A, Jordan Bos (cap #632) could return for KVC Westerlo after undergoing surgery to remove his appendix when they face Royal Antwerp on Saturday at 4:45am (AEST).

Elsewhere in Belgium, Aiden O'Neill (cap #629) could start again for Standard Liege when they travel to Jason Davidson (cap #545) KAS Eupen on Sunday at 9:30pm (AEST).

In France, Denis Genreau (cap #610) could also be in action when Toulouse FC continue the Ligue 1 season against Marseille on Monday at 1:05am (AEST). 

Milos Degenek (cap #585) could also start again for FK Crvena Zvezda in Serbia when they face FK Čukarički on Sunday at 2:05am (AEST). 

In Qatar, Trent Sainsbury (cap #574) may feature for Al-Wakrah SC against Mauither on Saturday at 11:45pm (AEST) in the QFA Cup. 

Over to Japan, where Thomas Deng (cap #598) could feature in the J1 League on Sunday at 8pm (AEST) when Albirex Niigata face Gamba Osaka.

Mitch Langerak (cap #566) is likely to be in goal when Nagoya Grampus face Avispa Fukuoka on Saturday at 8pm (AEST). 

Mitch Duke (cap #559) could also feature in the J2 League again on Sunday at 7pm (AEST) when Machida Zelvia face Fujieda MYFC. Machida are six points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand. 

In the K1 League, Harrison Delbridge (cap #623) is likely to feature for Incheon United when they face Jeju on Saturday at 3pm (AEST). Incheon will be looking to bounce back from their first defeat in three matches.

In Major League Soccer, Brad Smith (cap #575) could feature for Houston Dynamo on Sunday 10:30am (AEST) when they host St Louis. Dynamo are in fifth while St Louis leads the Western Conference.

Starting in the Premier League, Tyrese Francois could appear on the bench for Fulham when they host Luton Town on Sunday at 12am (AEST).

Elsewhere in the Championship, Nectarios Triantis could feature for Sunderland on Sunday at 12am (AEST) when they host QPR.

In League One, Cameron Peupion could be in action for Cheltenham Town when they face Exeter City on Sunday at 12am (AEST). 

Peupion returns to club land after scoring a stunning free-kick to help the Olyroos clinch the top spot of Group I in a hard-fought match against Tajikistan and secure automatic qualification to next year's AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024.

Elsewhere in League One, Nicholas Bilokapic could be in goal for Peterborough United when they face Leyton Orient on Sunday at 12am (AEST).

In League Two, Jay Rich-Baghuelou is likely to play for Accrington Stanley when they face fellow Aussie Dean Bouzanis' Sutton United on Sunday at 12am (AEST). The defender recently defender signed an improved two-year contract with the club.
