Aussies Abroad: Yengi scores, Silvera assists, Socceroos meet in Scotland

Kusini Yengi scored his seventh goal for Portsmouth in all competitions this season while Sammy Silvera notched up another assist for Middlesbrough as they advanced in the Carabao Cup and our Socceroos meet in Scotland again.

Starting in the EFL Carabao Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday, Sammy Silvera (cap #634) played 90 minutes and assisted the second goal in a 3-0 win over Port Vale. Tom Glover was also in goal and kept a clean sheet. 

Boro had not made a major domestic semi-final since losing to West Ham United in the last four of the FA Cup in 2006.

They return to Championship action on Sunday at 2am (AEDT) when they face West Brom. 

In the Championship on Tuesday, Harry Souttar's (cap #606) came off the bench in the 89th minute for Leicester City as they beat Birmingham 3-2.

They return to action on Sunday at 2am (AEDT) when they host Rotherham. 

Elsewhere in the English Championship, Cameron Burgess (cap #633) and Massimo Luongo (cap #571) could feature when second-placed Ipswich Town face third-placed Leeds United on Saturday at 11:30pm (AEDT). 

Ipswich could have moved 13 points clear of third-placed Leeds with victory in last weekend's derby at Norwich City but the contest ended in a 2-2 draw, offering Leeds the chance to trim the gap. 

Over to the Football League Trophy, where Kusini Yengi (cap #638) played the first half and scored a goal in Portsmouth's 5-2 loss to AFC Wimbledon on Wednesday.

Yengi is likely to return to League One action alongside Alexander Robertson (cap #630) when they face Fleetwood on Sunday at 2am (AEDT).

Kenny Dougall's (cap #608) Blackpool FC face Bristol Rovers on Sunday at 2am (AEDT) in League One.

Elsewhere in League One, Ashley Maynard-Brewer's Charlton Athletic also face Burton on Sunday at 2am (AEDT).

Over to Scotland, where Ryan McGowan's (cap #546) came off the bench in the 72nd minute for St Johnstone as they lost to Rangers 2-0 on Thursday.

They return to action on Sunday at 2am (AEDT) against Kilmarnock.

Keanu Baccus (cap #628) could also appear for St Mirren on Sunday at 2am (AEDT) when they face a Heart of Midlothian FC side likely to feature Kye Rowles (cap #622), Cameron Devlin (cap #625), and Olyroo Calem Nieuwenhof.

Elsewhere in the Scottish Premiership, Lewis Miller (cap #635) and Martin Boyle (cap #599) could feature for Hibernian alongside James Jeggo (cap #601) when they travel to Ross County at the same time. 

In Belgium, Aiden O’Neill (cap #629) played the full 90 for Standard Liege on Thursday in a 3-0 loss to Mechelen.

Jordan Bos (cap #632) is also expected to play for Westerlo as they look to make it three wins in a row to move out of the relegation zone when they travel to Antwerp on Sunday at 4:15am (AEDT).

Jason Davidson (cap #545) is likely to feature for KAS Eupen on Sunday at 2am (AEDT) when they host Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

In France's Ligue 1, Denis Genreau (cap #610) was an unused substitute for Toulouse FC on Thursday in a 2-1 loss against Monaco.

In Serbia, Milos Degenek (cap #585) was also an unused substitute for FK Crvena Zvezda in a 2-1 loss to Partizan on Thursday.

In Italy's Serie B, Alessandro Circati (cap #637) will more than likely line up for Parma when they face Ternana on Sunday at 12am (AEDT), eager to hold their two point lead at the top of the table.

In India, Jason Cummings (cap #626) played 60 minutes and scored another goal for Mohun Bagan in a 2-1 loss to Mumbai City on Thursday. Dimitri Petratos (cap #593) also replaced Cummings in the 60th minute. Fellow Aussies Brendan Hamill also played a full game while Rostyn Griffiths lined up for the opposition.

The pair did well not to involve themselves in a bizarre match which lead to seven red cards being produced by the referee. They face Goa on Sunday at 1:30am (AEDT). 

Over to the Saudi Pro League, where Craig Goodwin (cap #562) will be hoping to feature again for Al-Wehda on Sunday at 5am (AEDT) when they host Al-Riyadh SC as they look to bounce back from defeat in their last match.

Adrian Segecic came off the bench in the 72nd minute for FC Dordrecht in a 3-0 loss to Cambuur in the KNVB Cup on Wednesday.

In the Championship, Nectarios Triantis will be hoping to appear for Sunderland again when they host Coventry on Sunday at 2am (AEDT).

In League One, Nicholas Bilokapic could feature for Peterborough United FC against Shrewsbury Town on Sunday at 2am (AEDT).

Elsewhere in League One, Cameron Peupion could also play for Cheltenham Town when they face Carlisle on Sunday at 2am (AEDT).

As mentioned above, Calem Nieuwenhof is likely to feature for Heart of Midlothian FC against St Mirren on Sunday at 2am (AEDT)

  • In Italy, Cristian Volpato could be in action when Sassuolo face Genoa on Saturday at 4am (AEDT).

  • Ryan Edwards could appear for SD Amorebieta again on Friday at 7:30am (AEDT) against Alcorcon in Spain’s second division.

  • Over to England, where Jack Iredale could feature again on Sunday at 2am (AEDT) when Bolton Wanderers host Exeter City in League One.

  • In League Two, Dean Bouzanis is likely to return in goal for Sutton United against Mansfield Town on Sunday at 2am (AEDT).
