Aussies Abroad: Socceroos and Olyroos return to club action

It is all set to be another big weekend of club action as our Subway Socceroos and Olyroos return from international duty.

Subway Socceroos

Starting in the English Championship, where Cameron Burgess (cap #633) and Massimo Luongo (cap #571) could feature when second-placed Ipswich Town look to extend their unbeaten streak to 13 matches when they travel to West Brom on Sunday at 4:30am (AEDT).

Elsewhere in the Championship, Sammy Silvera (cap #634) is likely to appear for Middlesbrough as they face Bristol City on Sunday at 2am (AEDT). Tom Glover is also expected to be on the bench for Boro while Riley McGree (cap #609) could return from a foot injury.

Harry Souttar's (cap #606) Leicester City also face Watford on Sunday at the same time. 

In League One, Alexander Robertson (cap #630) is likely to feature alongside new Socceroo Kusini Yengi (cap #638, who recently received his first game against Bangladesh in Melbourne last week, for Portsmouth as they host Kenny Dougall's (cap #608) Blackpool FC on Sunday at 2am (AEDT). 

Elsewhere in League One, Ashley Maynard-Brewer's Charlton Athletic also face Carlisle on Sunday at 2am (AEDT).

Over to Scotland, where Keanu Baccus (cap #628) will return to action with St Mirren on Sunday at 2am (AEDT) against Livingston when they look to bounce back from three matches without a win and close the gap on second-placed Rangers. Ryan Strain (cap #624) is expected to miss the clash after suffering a groin issue against Palestine which saw him substituted in the first half.

Elsewhere in the Scottish Premiership, Lewis Miller (cap #635) and Martin Boyle (cap #599) could feature for Hibernian alongside James Jeggo (cap #601) when they travel to Dundee on Sunday at 2am (AEDT). After three consecutive draws, Hibs returned to winning ways before the international break so they will be hoping to keep their positive form going. 

Also at the same time, Kye Rowles (cap #622), Cameron Devlin (cap #625), and Olyroo Calem Nieuwenhof are likely to feature for Heart of Midlothian FC against Ryan McGowan's (cap #546) St Johnstone. 

In the Netherlands, Matthew Ryan (cap #555) is likely to return in goal for AZ Alkmaar host Garang Kuol's (cap #627) FC Volendam on Monday at 12:30am (AEDT). AZ have slipped to fourth after two matches without a win while Voldendam are second to last on eight points.

In Germany, Connor Metcalfe (cap #611) is likely to feature for St. Pauli with Jackson Irvine (cap #568) as they look to extend their lead at the top of the table against 13th placed Hansa on Saturday at 11pm (AEDT) in the 2 Bundesliga. St Pauli are currently three points clear. 

In Belgium, Jordan Bos (cap #632) is expected to play for Westerlo as they look to make it three matches without a loss to move out of the relegation zone when they travel to fellow cellar dwellers Charleroi on Sunday at 4:15am (AEDT). 

Elsewhere in Belgium, Aiden O’Neill (cap #629) is also expected to play for Standard Liege on Sunday at 6:45am (AEDT) when they host Genk. 

Jason Davidson (cap #545) is likely to feature for KAS Eupen on Sunday at 2am (AEDT) when they travel to Cercle Brugge as they look to bounce back from defeat in their last match after going two games undefeated before that. 

In Italy's Serie B, Alessandro Circati (cap #637) will more than likely line up for Parma when they face Modena on Sunday at 12am (AEDT), eager to hold their lead at the top of the table.

In Switzerland, Awer Mabil (cap #597) will likely feature with Grasshopper when they host FC Servette on Monday at 2:30am (AEDT) in the Swiss Super League.

In Norway, recent Socceroos train-on and Olryoo Patrick Yazbek is also tipped to feature for Viking FK against Aalesund on Monday at 3am (AEDT) as they look to break back into the top three after returning to winning ways in their last outing following three losses in a row in the Eliteserien.

In France's Ligue 1, Denis Genreau (cap #610) could return from injury for Toulouse FC on Sunday at 11pm (AEDT) when they face Nice. 

In Ligue 2, Mohamed Toure (cap #636) is likely to feature with Paris FC when they face Bordeaux on Sunday at 5am (AEDT) as they hope to make it five matches without defeat. 

In Serbia, Milos Degenek (cap #585) could return to the line-up when FK Crvena Zvezda face Vojvodina on Sunday at 2am (AEDT). 

In Austria, James Holland (cap #508) is likely to be in action for Austria Wien when they face travel to Wolfsberg on Monday at 12:30am (AEDT).

Over to the Saudi Pro League, where Craig Goodwin (cap #562) will be hoping to feature again for Al-Wehda on Sunday at 5am (AEDT) when they host Al-Khaleej as they look to bounce back from defeat in their last match against Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr FC and move up the table. Al-Wehda currently sit in ninth. 

In Japan's J1 League, Thomas Deng (cap #598) could feature for Albirex Niigata against a Yokohama FM side coached by former Socceroo Kevin Muscat on Friday at 9pm (AEDT). 

Mitch Langerak (cap #566) will hope to help push J1 League side Nagoya Grampus towards AFC Champions League qualification on Saturday at 4pm (AEDT) when they travel to Vissel Kobe.

In the K1 League play-offs, Harrison Delbridge's (cap #623) Incheon United face Ulsan on Friday at 9:30pm (AEDT) as they look to make it four games in a row without defeat.

In the USA, Brad Smith (cap #575) could feature in Houston Dynamo's MLS play-off semi-final against Sporting KC on Monday at 11am (AEDT).

Subway Olyroos

In the Championship, Nectarios Triantis will be hoping to appear for Sunderland again when they travel to Plymouth Argyle on Sunday at 2am (AEDT).

In League One, Nicholas Bilokapic could return to League action against Burton on Sunday at 2am (AEDT). 

Caleb Watts could also make his return for Exeter City when they return to League One action against Bolton on Sunday at 2am (AEDT).

Elsewhere in League One, Cameron Peupion could also play for Cheltenham Town when they face Oxford United on Sunday at 2am (AEDT).

As mentioned above, Calem Nieuwenhof is likely to feature for Heart of Midlothian FC against St Johnstone on Sunday at 2am (AEDT).

In Poland, Louis D'Arrigo could feature again for Lechia Gdańsk when they face Arka Gdynia on Saturday at 6:30am (AEDT).

Adrian Segecic is likely to appear again for FC Dordrecht when they face Den Haag on Saturday at 6am (AEDT) in the Eerste Divisie.

Subway Young Socceroos/U18

Keegan Jelacic could be involved for Stabaek in Norway on Monday at 3am (AEDT) when they host Sandefjord.

  • Anthony Kalik could feature again for Hajduk Split on Monday at 1am (AEDT) when they face Istra 1961.

  • Liam Chipperfield will hope to earn a start for FC Sion when they host FC Aarau on Sunday at 12:15am (AEDT) in the Swiss Challenge League.

  • In Italy, Cristian Volpato could be in action when Sassuolo face Empoli on Monday at 1am (AEDT).

  • Ryan Edwards could appear for SD Amorebieta again on Monday at 2:15am (AEDT) against Elche in Spain’s second division.

  • John Iredale will hope to start again for Wehen Wiesbaden in Germany’s 2. Bundesliga against Furth on Sunday at 11:30pm (AEDT).

  • Over to England, where Jack Iredale could feature again on Sunday at 2am (AEDT) when Bolton Wanderers host Exeter City in League One.

  • In League Two, Dean Bouzanis is likely to return in goal for Sutton United against Grimsby Town on Sunday at 2am (AEDT).

  • Over to the K1 League play-offs, where Alexander Grant is likely to feature for Pohang Steelers against Daegu on Saturday at 6:30pm (AEDT).

  • Elsewhere in the K1 League play-offs, Aaron Calver could play for Gwangju when they face Jeonbuk on Saturday at 4pm (AEDT).

  • Lachlan Jackson will look to play a part in Suwon FC’s match against Gangwon on Saturday at 6:30pm (AEDT) in the K1 League relegation play-offs.
