Aussies Abroad: Ryan clean sheet, Tilio returns, Miller scores

As our Subway Socceroos and Olyroos returned from international duty, Lewis Miller scored the winner for Hibs while Marco Tilio backed up a solid U23 performance with a Celtic debut. 

There was also another clean sheet for Maty Ryan in the Netherlands.

Subway Socceroos

Starting in Scotland, where Lewis Miller (cap #635) started, scored what proved to be the winner in the 58th minute and then was contentiously sent off minutes later, as Hibernian hung on to a 2-1 victory over Dundee in a pulsating contest on Sunday. 

Martin Boyle (cap #599) also played 78 minutes while James Jeggo (cap #601) came off the bench in the 57th minute.

Elsewhere in Scotland, Marco Tilio (cap #615) made his long-awaited debut for Celtic on Sunday in a 1-1 draw with Motherwell.

With ten minutes of stoppage time on the clock, Tilio was brought on in the 94th minute to replace Hyunjun Yang as the Hoops searched for a winner in the closing stages of the match.

The debut caps off a promising week for the 22-year-old, who put in some impressive performances for the Subway Olyroos last week. 

Kye Rowles (cap #622) also returned from Socceroos duty and put in a 90-minute display for Heart of Midlothian FC in a 1-0 win over Ryan McGowan's (cap #546) St Johnstone on Sunday. Rowles completed 80% of his passes in the narrow victory.

Olyroo Calem Nieuwenhof also came off the bench in the 67th minute for Hearts while McGowan played the full match for St Johnstone. 

Elsewhere, Keanu Baccus (cap #628) and Ryan Strain (cap #624) were rested for St Mirren's 1-0 win over Livingston on Sunday following Socceroos action. 

Over to England, where Kenny Dougall (cap #608) played the full 90 minutes and assisted as Blackpool thumped high-flying Portsmouth 4-0 on Sunday in League One.

Alexander Robertson (cap #630) started and played 80 minutes while new Socceroo Kusini Yengi (cap #638) came off the bench in the 70th minute for Pompey. 

Elsewhere in League One, Ashley Maynard-Brewer was in goal for Charlton Athletic in a 1-1 draw with Carlisle on Sunday.

In the Championship, Cameron Burgess (cap #633) returned to action with Ipswich Town and played the full match while Massimo Luongo (cap #571) came off the bench in the 61st minute as they lost 2-0 to West Brom on Sunday. 

The result saw Ipswich's 12-game unbeaten league run come to an end as they sit in second, three points behind Leicester City - who beat Watford 2-0 on Sunday. Harry Souttar (cap #606) was an unused substitute.

Sammy Silvera (cap #634) also came off the bench for Middlesbrough in the 73rd minute as they lost 3-2 to Bristol City on Sunday. Tom Glover was an unused substitute. 

In the Netherlands, Matthew Ryan (cap #555) was in goal for AZ Alkmaar as he kept a clean sheet in a 3-0 win over Garang Kuol's (cap #627) FC Volendam on Monday. Kuol started and played 67 minutes.

AZ have are third, three points off second. 

 

In Germany, Jackson Irvine (cap #568) played another full match for St Pauli while Connor Metcalfe (cap #611) was introduced in the 73rd minute as they beat Hansa Rostock 3-2 on Saturday to remain top of the 2. Bundesliga. 

In Belgium, Jordan Bos (cap #632) played the full 90 for Westerlo in a last-minute 3-2 loss to fellow cellar dwellers Charleroi on Sunday. Westerlo sit second to bottom after 15 games. 

Elsewhere in Belgium, Aiden O’Neill (cap #629) also played the full match for Standard Liege on Sunday as they beat Genk 1-0. Liege are eighth, four points off the championship round.

Jason Davidson (cap #545) started and played 82 minutes for KAS Eupen on Sunday as they lost 2-0 to Cercle Brugge.

In Italy's Serie B, Alessandro Circati (cap #637) was an unused substitute for Parma as they drew 1-1 with Modena on Sunday as they dropped into second. 

In Switzerland, Awer Mabil (cap #597) played the full 90 for Grasshopper as they lost 2-0 to FC Servette on Monday in the Swiss Super League.

In Norway, recent Socceroos train-on and Olryoo Patrick Yazbek started and played 61 minutes for Viking FK in a 4-0 win over Aalesund on Monday in the Eliteserien.

In France's Ligue 1, Denis Genreau (cap #610) returned from injury as an unused substitute for Toulouse FC on Sunday in a 1-0 loss to Nice.

In Serbia, Milos Degenek (cap #585) was an unused substitute for FK Crvena Zvezda as they beat Vojvodina 2-1 on Sunday.

In Austria, James Holland (cap #508) was an unused substitute for Austria Wien in a 1-0 loss to Wolfsberg on Monday.

Over to the Saudi Pro League, where Craig Goodwin (cap #562) played 90 minutes for Al-Wehda on Sunday as they beat Al-Khaleej 3-1 thanks to an Odion Ighalo hattrick. Al-Wehda currently sit in ninth. 

In Japan's J1 League, Thomas Deng (cap #598) played a full match for Albirex Niigata in a 0-0 draw with a Yokohama FM side coached by former Socceroo Kevin Muscat on Friday.

Mitch Langerak (cap #566) was in goal for Nagoya Grampus on Saturday as they lost 2-1 to Vissel Kobe, who were crowned champions with the win.

In the Championship, Nectarios Triantis was an unused substitute for Sunderland again as they lost 2-0 to Plymouth Argyle on Sunday.

In League One, Nicholas Bilokapic was in goal for Peterborough United and kept a clean sheet as they beat Burton 4-0 on Sunday.

Elsewhere in League One, Cameron Peupion was an unused substitute for Cheltenham Town as they beat Oxford United 2-0 on Sunday.

As mentioned above, Calem Nieuwenhof came off the bench in the 67th minute for Hearts in a 1-0 win over St Johnstone on Sunday. 

In Poland, Louis D'Arrigo came off the bench in the 71st minute for Lechia Gdańsk as they lost 1-0 to Arka Gdynia on Saturday.

Adrian Segecic started and played 82 minutes for FC Dordrecht as they drew 2-2 with Den Haag on Saturday in the Eerste Divisie.

Keegan Jelacic was an unused substitute for Stabaek in Norway on Monday in a 2-1 win over Sandefjord.
