Aussies Abroad: Duke scores, Peupion makes Premier League debut

With our Aussies Abroad in action through the week, Olyroo Cameron Peupion made his Premier League debut for Brighton while Mitch Duke continued his form in the J2 League.

Subway Socceroos

Starting in the J2 League, where Mitch Duke played 75 minutes on Wednesday and scored a goal as Machida Zelvia beat Renofa Yamaguchi 2-0. Machida are now seven points clear at the top of the table as they hunt promotion to Japan's top flight. 

He is likely to appear again on Sunday at 3pm (AEST) when they face Shimizu S-Pulse. 

In the Europa Conference League semi-finals, Maty Ryan was in goal as AZ Alkmaar bowed out of the competition with a 1-0 loss to West Ham in the second leg of their tie at the London Stadium on Friday.

Ryan is likely to be in action again when AZ Alkmaar return to Eredivisie action against NEC Nijmegen on Sunday at 10:30pm (AEST). Alkmaar are fourth, two points behind Ajax in third.

Over to the English Championship play-offs, Riley McGree played a full game for Middlesbrough as the lost 1-0 to Coventry in their semi-final second leg against Coventry City on Thursday.

In the English Premier League, where Harry Souttar came on in the 89th minute for Leicester City on Tuesday as they lost 3-0 to Liverpool. 

Souttar could appear again on Tuesday at 5am (AEST) as Leicester look to pick up a vital three points against Newcastle United, in their ongoing relegation battle.

In Norway, Gianni Stensness and Nick D'Agostino played a full game while  Subway Olyroo Patrick Yazbek started and came off at half time as Viking FK recorded back to back wins to jump into second with a 3-2 victory over Odd on Tuesday. 

The trio now has a week off as they prepare to face league leaders FK Bodø/Glimt on Tuesday May 30.

Over to the MLS, where Milos Degenek could feature for Columbus Crew on Sunday at 9:30am (AEST) when The Crew face Cincinnati. 

Elsewhere in the MLS, Alex Gersbach played a full game for Colorado Rapids on Wednesday in a 3-0 loss to Atlanta United. He could appear again on Sunday at 11:30am (AEST) when the Rapids face Real Salt Lake City. 

Brad Smith was also in action on Wednesday as Houston Dynamo lost 1-0 to Minnesota. He came off the bench at half time. 

He is likely to play again on Sunday at 10:30am (AEST) when they face FC Dallas.

In Scotland, Aaron Mooy is in line to return from the soreness that kept him out of last week's derby loss to Rangers when Celtic host Keanu Baccus and Ryan Strain's St Mirren on Sunday at 12am (AEST) in the Scottish Premiership second phase. 

Following a draw against Hearts last weekend, St Mirren have to dig deep to keep the European dream alive now, needing at least four points from Celtic, (A), Aberdeen (A) and Rangers (H) and for results elsewhere to go their way.

Elsewhere in Scotland, Cameron DevlinKye Rowles, Nathaniel Atkinson and Garang Kuol's Heart of Midlothian face Aberdeen on Saturday at 9:30pm (AEST). 

James Jeggo and Subway Olyroo Lewis Miller's Hibernian face Rangers on Sunday at 9pm (AEST) as Hibs push for a European place. 

At the other end of the Scottish Premiership post-split fixtures, Aziz Behich's Dundee United will be in action against Livingston on Sunday at 12am (AEST).

Ryan McGowan could also be in action for St Johnstone against Kilmarnock on Sunday at 12am (AEST). 

In Germany, it is do or die for Jackson Irvine and Connor Metcalfe's St Pauli as they look for a top-three finish and a chance of promotion via the play-offs when they face Holstein Kiel on Saturday at 2:30am (AEST). 

With St Pauli currently in fifth position with two games remaining, third-placed Hamburg can clinch a promotion play-off position with at least a draw against Fürth. St. Pauli must beat Holstein Kiel and hope Hamburg lose. 

In France, Denis Genreau's Toulouse FC face Nice on Sunday at 11pm (AEST) as they look to finish the Ligue 1 season strongly. Toulouse are 13th in the league with three games remaining. 

In Czechia, Awer Mabil could be in action again on Saturday at 11pm (AEST) when Sparta Prague face Bohemians 1905 in the Czech First League championship rounds. Sparta are the only team in the championship round to win both fixtures so far. 

In Serie B, Fran Karacic could feature when Brescia Calcio face Palermo on Saturday at 4:30am (AEST) in their last game of the season as they look to avoid relegation. Brescia are currently 17th in the league, three points in front of Perugia. 

Because of Perugia's superior goal difference, Brescia will need at least a point to avoid a relegation play-off spot and hope that Perugia does not win. 

Over to Asia, Harrison Delbridge played a full game for Incheon United on Wednesday in a 2-0 loss to Jeju.

Thomas Deng could also be in action when Albirex Niigata face Sagan Tosu on Saturday at 6pm (AEST) in the J1 League. 

Elsewhere in the J1League, Mitch Langerak is likely to start again when Nagoya Grampus face Sanfrecce on Saturday at 4pm (AEST). 

In the Israeli Premier League play-offs, Nikita Rukavytsya could be in action for Maccabi Haifa on Sunday when they face Hapoel Jerusalem Netanya FC at 3:30am (AEST).

Starting in the English Premier League, Cameron Peupion made his English top-flight debut after coming off the bench in Brighton's 4-1 loss to Newcastle on Friday.

He could appear again on Sunday at 11pm (AEST) when they face Southampton. 

In the Eerste Divisie, where Dylan Ryan could be in action for FC Den Bosch on Saturday at 4am (AEST) when they face De Graafschap while Josh Rawlins' Jong FC Utrecht face VVV at the same time.

In the German Regionalliga, Alou Kuol could be involved with VfB Stuttgart II when they face TSV Steinbach on Saturday at 10pm (AEST). 

In the German 3. Liga, John Iredale could feature again when SV Wehen Wiesbaden face SV Elversberg on Saturday at 10pm (AEST).

  • In France's Lique 1, Mohamed Toure could feature again for Stade Reims when they face Angers on Sunday at 11pm (AEST). 
  • In Italy's Serie A, Cristian Volpato could feature for AS Roma when they face Salernitana on Tuesday at 2:30am (AEST). Volpato was an unused substitute on Friday as Roma drew 0-0 with Leverkusen to advance to the final of the Europa League with a 1-0 aggregate win. 
  • In the  Danish 1st Division play-off, Cyrus Dehmie could appear for Næstved against Vejle BK on Sunday at 11pm (AEST).
  • In the J2 League, Stefan Mauk could be in action when Fagiano Okayama face Gunma on Sunday at 8pm (AEST). Mauk started and played 59 minutes on Wednesday as Okayama drew 0-0 with V-Varen Nagasaki. 
  • In the K1 League, Alex Grant could be in action when Pohang Steelers face Aaron Calver's Gangwon on Sunday at 5:30pm (AEST).
