WATCH: Harry Souttar on target for Stoke
After a couple of months abroad representing the Socceroos and Olyroos, Harry Souttar has returned to action with Stoke City in style - watch his goal in the player above!
The towering centre-half was handed the captain's armband as The Potters took on Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup and rose highest off a corner in the 77th minute to head home what would prove to be the decisive goal in a 2-1 victory.
The night was made extra special as the 22-year-old caught up with his old teammates; having enjoyed a successful time on loan with the League One club from 2019-2020.
It was during his time with Fleetwood that Souttar made his Socceroos debut back in 2019, scoring the first of his six goals in five international appearances so far.
While he is yet to convert his immense strike-rate in Green and Gold back into the Red and White of Stoke City, fans are hoping his goal overnight - linking up with new signing Mario Vrančić - is a sign of things to come this season.
Having only returned to training less than a week ago, Souttar was an unused substitute over the weekend as Michael O'Neill's side opened their league campaign with a 3-2 win over Reading.
As rising star tipped to play at the top by his manager, Souttar is determined to inspire a promotion push that sees Stoke return to the Premier League.
