The Subway Socceroos AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 campaign has come to an end in a reverse of the 2015 Final with defeat to Korea Republic, 2-1 after extra time.

Australia took the lead through Craig Goodwin to lead at half time, but a 96th minute penalty dispatched by Hwang Hee-chan and a spectacular free kick in extra time by Son Heung-min turned the tables to send the Koreans to the semi finals.
