Subway Socceroos winger Marco Tilio will return to Melbourne City on loan for the remainder of the 2023/24 season from Celtic FC, the club announced.
Tilio left City for the Scottish giants in June last year in a record-breaking transfer, but injury largely restricted his playing time to just two cameo appearance in the league.
The 22-year-old is currently in Qatar with Australia for the AFC Asian Cup™ and will reunite with the Isuzu UTE A-League outfit following the tournament.
Tilio has made one appearance so far, featuring off the bench in the Green and Gold's 1-1 draw with Uzbekistan in what was his ninth cap for his country.
During his three years with City between 2020 and 2023, Tilio won three consecutive premierships and a championship in 2021, while accumulating 86 matches in all competitions, recording 20 goals and 19 assists.

The exciting forward will hope to rediscover that stellar form in the hope of selection for April's Paris 2024 Summer Olympics qualifiers, the AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024™. A top three finish will secure a ticket to Paris.
In a statement on Melbourne City's website, Tilio said: “I’m thrilled to be back at City. The memories and experiences from my time here are unforgettable, and I can’t wait to contribute to the team’s success once again.
“The support from the fans has always been incredible, and I’m eager to create more memorable moments together this season.”
