Socceroos Next Fixtures - June Playoffs

Another A-League Men Championship potentially awaits for Melbourne City's stars this weekend with four Socceroos in the line for silverware. 

Mathew Leckie will play his first-ever Grand Final for Melbourne City FC, while Jamie Maclaren, Marco Tilio and Connor Metcalfe will hope to guide the reigning champions to back-to-back titles.

Melbourne City:

The men in Sky Blue face cross-town rivals Western United, in the final game of the A-League Men 2021/22 season. 

Mathew Leckie and uncapped Aussie U23 representative Jordan Bos will look to claim their first-ever silverware in City colours this Saturday evening in the A-League Men Final at AAMI Park (7:45 PM Kick-off). 

The clash will be Leckie's first final for the 31-year-old in Australia despite featuring in previous finals series for Adelaide United back in 2011. 

Jamie Maclaren who is coming off a 16-goal haul which saw the 28-year-old claim back-to-back domestic Golden Boot's while youngster Marco Tilio, who had another breakout season under Patrick Kisnorbo, netted eight goals and eight assists in 29 games across all competitions. 

After claiming the Alex Tobin Medal, 21-year-old Connor Metcalfe will be playing his last-ever game in Australia before departing for European soil to link up with fellow Socceroo, Jackson Irvine at FC St Pauli in Germany.

If Melbourne City manage to defeat Western United, they will make history becoming the first side to win back-to-back A-League Men Premiership/Championship doubles.

The A-League Men Grand Final is scheduled for this Saturday evening, live on 10, Paramount+ and 10 Play, with kick-off slated for 7:45 PM at AAMI Park.
