Socceroos at Home: Tilio & Leckie launch City to big win

Melbourne City continued their stay atop of the A-League Men's ladder as both Marco Tilio and Mathew Leckie combined to down Wellington Phoenix in a big win on Saturday night.

The comfortable 6-0 win over the Phoenix now has Melbourne City sitting at 10 games undefeated in the A-League Men's competition after Marco Tilio came off the bench to score two brilliant goals while Mathew Leckie also scored and Connor Metcalfe grabbed an assist in the 6-0 rout.

Connor Metcalfe whipped in a corner which Curtis Good headed home, before the introduction of another Socceroo put the cherry on top for City.

After being on the pitch for a matter of minutes, the recently-capped Socceroos winger Tilio found his first of the afternoon when the 21-year-old brought the ball down in the Phoenix box and was allowed space to twist and turn to place his shot brilliantly into the far corner for Melbourne City's fifth goal.
