Socceroos’ centenary celebrations to feature New Zealand match in Auckland

The Socceroos will venture to Auckland this September to take on New Zealand in an international friendly to mark the 100-year anniversary of the first ever senior men’s international fixture between the two nations.

Australia will meet the All Whites at Auckland’s Eden Park on Sunday, 25 September 2022, with kick-off at 4pm local time (2pm AEST).

Along with celebrating the centenary of the first trans-Tasman game, which was contested on 17 June 1922, the fixture marks the first time the two teams have met in over 10 years and the first time senior international football has been played at Eden Park.

The match will be part of a two-game series between the nations, with the first fixture of the window to be played in Australia. The match date, venue, and kick-off time of the Australia leg will be announced in due course.
