Socceroos at home: Goodwin drives Adelaide United to late victory

Adelaide United continued their run up the A-League Men ladder as a pair of assists from Craig Goodwin allowed Adelaide United to sink Newcastle Jets on Sunday evening.

The Reds claimed back to back wins at Coopers Stadium after Craig Goodwin's two assists laid off to George Blackwood and Mo Toure respectively allowed Adelaide United to move back into 3rd place on the A-League Men ladder.

Early on Goodwin was released in behind the Jets defence and the quick feet of the 30-year-old gave him enough space to play a ball into the oncoming Blackwood who slotted home the opener for the Reds in the second minute of the match.

After turning provider for the opener at Coopers Stadium, Goodwin nearly grabbed a goal himself as the exciting winger once again dazzled his way past the Newcaslte defence before just narrowly firing his shot wide of the Newcastle goal shortly after the opener for the Reds.

Goodwin continued to terrorize the Newcastle defence for the rest of the match, despite being pushed further back the pitch to left-back, but it was Goodwin who had the last laugh of the match providing a beauty of a ball to allow Toure to net the winner for the Reds in the 88th minute.
