Ryan's Brighton settle for point at Southampton in midweek EPL

Caltex Socceroos keeper Mat Ryan's Brighton & Hove Albion have drawn 1-1 with Southampton at St Mary's Stadium overnight in the English Premier League.

After securing their place in the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup over the weekend, Ryan's Seagulls went ahead inside the opening 15 minutes courtesy of Glenn Murray's penalty.

But a fortuitous deflected goal by  Jack Stephens from James Ward-Prowse's free-kick diverted the ball past Ryan to equalise for the home side after 64 minutes.

And the Aussie keeper was called into action shortly after, getting a clean pair of hands on a stinging drive from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Brighton is home to West Ham on Sunday.
