Nestory Irankunda has secured a midseason move to Swiss Super League outfit Grasshopper Club Zurich on loan until the end of the 2024/25 season.

The 18-year-old Subway Socceroos has been impressive in his debut season with Bayern Munich's reserve team after joining the German giants last summer from Adelaide United, with four goals and four assists in the Bavarian Regional League.
He also scored one goal in three appearances for Munich's U19s in the UEFA Youth League, and the winger's strong form culminated in his selection in two of Vincent Kompany's matchday squads for the first team.
However, with the January transfer window open and in search of more senior football, the prodigious youngster completed a six-month dry loan to the Swiss side to continue his development, and links up with fellow Aussie Awer Mabil.
In an official statement on the club's website, Grasshoppers sporting director Stephan Schwarz said: "Nestory Irankunda is a young and exciting talent with dynamism and the ability to ignite the attack.”
Irankunda added: "This is a great opportunity for me to continue my development in Switzerland’s highest league. I am very happy to be at GC Zurich.”
Since his Socceroos debut last year, Irankunda has five caps and one goal.
