Socceroos midfielder Mustafa Amini announced via Instagram that he will be returning to Australia after a nine year stint in Europe.
Amini confirmed that he will return to Australian shores following the conclusion of his contract with Danish side AGF Aarhus.
The ex-Central Coast midfielder will return home after spending nine years abroad during which time he played for Borussia Dortmund, Randers FC before spending four years at Aarhus.
“After 9 beautiful years, I’m saying goodbye to Europe. I didn’t think this day would come so soon, but nothing in life can ever be planned,” Amini said in his Instagram post.
“Thank you to all my team mates, staff members, coaches and especially the fans. Thanks for the memories, friendships and good times. Thank you, Borussia Dortmund, Randers FC and AGF Aarhus - you’ll always be part of me.
“I’m heading back to Australia and we’ll see what the future holds.”
