Kangaroo cardboard cut-outs set to feature at Boyle’s Hibernian

Thirty-three kangaroo cardboard cut-outs will be placed in the seats around the home ground of Martin Boyle’s Hibernian in Scotland as part of the ‘Be The Face In the Crowd Initiative’ which aims at raising funds for the club.

Socceroos winger Martin Boyle will feel an even greater affinity to Australia now after the Australian Branch of the Hibernian Supporters Association bought kangaroo cut-outs in an effort to raise funds for the side.

The kangaroos are set to feature in the stands of the club’s Easter Road home ground when the Scottish Premiership season begins on August 1.

Boyle was blown away by the incredible gesture from down under as he praised the Aussie fans for their amazing support.

“It’s unbelievable the lengths these guys go to watch us every weekend and it’s appreciated. I get some great messages from supporters based in Australia and hopefully they’re looking forward to the start of the season as much as we are.”

“I’ve seen some strange things in my time at Easter Road, but those kangaroos are right up there,” Boyle told Hibernianfc.co.uk.

The crowd cut-outs cost £25 ($45 AUD) each and will be able available to keep after Easter Road returns to fully capacity.

You’ll be able to catch these kangaroo cardboard cut-outs for the first time when Hibernian welcome Kilmarnock to Easter Road at 12am* on Sunday August 2.
