The Joeys booked their place in the knockout stage by finishing third in Group B behind Nigeria – who they beat 2-1 on Saturday – and Ecuador.

France finished top of Group C with three wins against Korea Republic, Chile and Haiti.

Trevor Morgan’s side face the two-time champions of the tournament at Estadio da Serrinha on Thursday with the winner advancing to a quarter final against either Spain or Senegal next week.
