Jamie Maclaren has ended speculation about his future, signing a four-year contract with Indian Super League powerhouse Mohun Bagan Super Giant following the conclusion of his contract with Melbourne City.
The 30-year-old departed the A-League Men as the competition's all-time top-scorer with 154 goals in 233 matches, winning five A-League Golden Boots.
Maclaren joined City midway during the 2018/19 season and was extremely prolific in front of goal and after five-and-a-half years returns overseas for the first time since spells at Darmstadt 98 and Hibernian.
Maclaren now joins the reigning champions of India and teams up with two Socceroos in Jason Cummings and Dimitri Petratos.
Maclaren has scored 11 goals in 32 matches for the Subway Socceroos with his most recent call-up occurring in November 2023.
After signing with the Kolkata-based Mariners, Maclaren said via the club's social media he was excited for the campaign ahead.
"I really cannot wait to get over to Kolkata and meet all the fans, meet my new teammates, and meet some friends I've played with before.
"It's going to be a super exciting season and can't wait."
