James Jeggo seals move to Greek club Aris Thessaloniki

Socceroos midfielder James Jeggo has joined Greek Super League outfit Aris Thessaloniki from Austrian Bundesliga side FK Austria Wien.

James Jeggo confirmed that he had parted ways with FK Austria Wien in an Instagram post this morning as he prepares for a new chapter with Greek side Aris Thessaloniki.

The Socceroos midfielder thanked the Wien supporters as well as all the people involved with the club.

“I was lucky enough to meet some wonderful people and want to thank my teammates, the coaches, all the support staff and the fans,” Jeggo said.

“I wish everyone involved with the club all the very best for the future!”

The 28-year-old spent two seasons with the men from the capital where he went on to feature 55 times in all competitions.

 

The ex-Adelaide United midfielder has signed a two year deal with Aris and will link up with them ahead of the 2020/21 Greek Super League season which is due to commence on September 12.

He confirmed his arrival at the Greek club in an Instagram post overnight.

“Really excited to start a new adventure at @arisfc_official,” he said.

Jeggo’s new club qualified for last season’s play off round in the Greek top flight and ultimately finished the campaign in 5th place which earnt them a place in next season’s UEFA Europa League second qualifying round.
