GALLERY: Ryan and Leckie the heroes for Socceroos against Uzbekistan

What a night - the Socceroos have progressed to the quarter-finals of the AFC Asian Cup™ for a fourth straight time after beating Uzbekistan 4-2 on penalties (0-0 AET). 

Mat Ryan pulled off two incredible saves during the penalty shootout, while Mat Leckie marked his return to the Socceroos playing group with nerves of steel, slotting home the decisive penalty.

The win was a just reward for Graham Arnold's men, who enjoyed more than 60% of possession and spent the lion's share of the game in Uzbekistan's half.

Australia will now face the United Arab Emirates on Saturday, January 26 at 3am (AEDT).
