Folami & Dougall called up to Socceroos with Goodwin & Irvine ruled out

Football Australia has today advised of changes to the Socceroos’ squad for Australia’s forthcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ qualification fixtures against Japan and Saudi Arabia.

Adelaide United attacker Craig Goodwin has been ruled out of the squad after he was deemed to be a close contact for COVID-19, while FC St. Pauli midfielder Jackson Irvine will miss the window after he tested positive to the virus prior to departing Germany for Australia.

With Goodwin and Irvine ruled out of the squad, Melbourne Victory attacker Ben Folami will come in for his debut camp. Additionally, Blackpool FC midfielder Kenneth Dougall has been called up to represent Australia.

The Socceroos’ match against Japan on Thursday evening (kick-off 8.10pm AEDT) will be broadcast live and free in Australia on Network 10 and simulcast on 10 Play. Tickets are available from Ticketek.
