Behich scores in consecutive games for Dundee

Subway Socceroos defender Aziz Behich has found the back of the net for the second game in a row, helping Dundee United to a 1-0 win over Martin Boyle's Hibernian on Wednesday morning.

After opening the scoring in a 4-0 triumph over Aberdeen on Sunday morning AEDT, Behich was at it again three days later with his 11th minute finish proving decisive.

The 31-year-old played a one-two with Dylan Levitt before some fancy footwork evaded a challenge and steered his effort beyond the Hibs goalkeeper David Marshall.

It was the first time the left-back had scored in successive league games since 2017 while at Super Lig outfit Bursaspor.

Dundee United manager Liam Fox joked he never realised Behich was a goalscorer after netting two in two.

"Great, great boy," Fox told Dundee United TV.

"He's been performing really well, he's great in the group and long may that continue.

"... We've come away with three points so absolutely delighted.

"Sometimes you can talk about tactics, formations and shape but tonight was a performance of desire and heart and we had to really dig deep.

"Hibs made us work, they've got some good players but the character shown by the players was probably the most pleasing thing."

The victory lifts the Tangerines off the bottom of the Scottish Premiership table following its second consecutive win.

Since joining the Terrors on a two-year contract in July, Behich, who has 53 caps for his country, has scored two goals in eight games across all competitions this season.
