Bailey Wright to join Socceroos’ squad in Saudi Arabia

Sunderland defender Bailey Wright will link with the Socceroos in Jeddah this evening as Australia Head Coach Graham Arnold adds a further defensive option to his squad for Tuesday’s clash with Saudi Arabia at King Abdullah Sports City.

With Rhyan Grant and Milos Degenek having returned to their respective clubs due to yellow card trouble, Wright will join the squad in Jeddah ahead of Tuesday’s contest.

Mathew Leckie, who was also in danger of being suspended for June’s AFC playoff if he received a further yellow card in Tuesday’s match, was also permitted to return to his club.

Kick-off in Tuesday evening’s match against Saudi Arabia is at 9pm local time (5am AEDT – Wednesday, 30 March 2022), with the contest to be broadcast exclusively live and free in Australia on Network 10 and simulcast on 10 Play.
