Aziz Behich to miss Vietnam clash following snowstorm in Istanbul

The Socceroos will be sans the services of Aziz Behich for tomorrow night’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ qualifier against Vietnam, with the Turkey-based defender unable to depart Istanbul following a major snowstorm that has brought the city to a standstill.

Europe’s busiest airport in Istanbul shut down on Monday due to a blizzard that has blanketed the city in snow, creating a backlog of departures from Turkey to other international destinations.

As of midnight Tuesday (European time) all services from Istanbul Airport remained suspended.

Behich, who hails from Victoria, will instead meet the Socceroos in Muscat ahead of next Tuesday’s (local time) qualifier against Oman in the Middle East.

The Socceroos’ FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ qualifier against Vietnam on Thursday evening (kick-off 8.10pm AEDT) will be broadcast exclusively live and free across Australia on Thursday on 10 Bold, and simulcast on 10 Play.

Limited tickets are available for the home qualifier at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium. The remaining seats can be purchased from Ticketek.
