Awer Mabil secures progression into next round of Champions League Qualifiers

Awer Mabil’s FC Midtjylland booked their place in the third round of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers thanks to their 1-0 win against Bulgarian outfit Ludogorets on Thursday morning.

Awer Mabil’s Midtjylland are one step closer to playing UEFA Champions League football next season after they progressed to the third round of the qualifiers with a 1-0 win against Bulgarian champions Ludogorets.

Mabil played the full game for Midtjylland as they saw off the Bulgarian heavyweights with Junior Brumado’s goal in the 78th minute proving to be decisive.

The Socceroos winger was pleased with his side’s performance but believed they should have been a lot more clinical in the final third.

“We played a really good match and dominated large parts of the showdown. It annoys me that we did not score more goals,” Mabil told the Midtjylland official website.

“We delivered as a team and followed the plan, but we have to put the ball away in our good periods. We take that with us and continue to work towards the next round.”
